Green Building Insulation: Low-GWP DuPont™ Styrofoam™ XPS
How Does it Support Green Building?
The reformulated, signature grey DuPont™ Styrofoam™ Brand XPS delivers maximum thermal performance with the environment in mind.
Key Highlights:
- 94% Less Embodied Carbon: A massive reduction compared to legacy XPS formulas.
- 100% Renewable Energy: Manufactured in North America using entirely renewable electricity.
- 20% Recycled Content: UL-certified pre-consumer recycled material.
Why Choose XPS for Sustainable Enclosures?
The closed-cell structure of XPS blocks moisture better than EPS. By resisting water intrusion and freeze/thaw damage, it maintains a consistent R-value to actively lower a building's energy consumption over its entire lifespan.
Does it Contribute to LEED Certification?
Yes. Specifying this Low-GWP XPS provides a 200% cost value for the LEED v4.1 LCA Optimization credit. It also includes a published EPD and is GreenCircle Certified.
